Rolling Thunder

I should never have cast this on at all. Even though Mum's socks for Xmas are finished I am only part way up the first front of Phoebe's cardigan & I wanted to finish it for Xmas. I have an evre expanding sock yarn stash and certainly did not need to buy any more. I really like the other Lornas Laces socks I have knitted very soft and comfortable.

Yarn Lornas Laces colourway Gold Hill exactly the same as on knitty but totally different colours. Very bright on Knitty pinks etc, much more muted on mine greens reds golds purples. The colour is fairly accurate from the photo. I prefer it, should have the welt finished this pm and be on to the rib.

The colours don't seem to be pooling on 2.25mm needles which is really good as there was a certain amount of pooling going on with the previous pair.

Winter's Muse

This is what I miss about you guys. I found a LYS that has the Louisa Harding books and completely fell for Winter's Muse. I know you all like the book but I always hate buying books sight unseen. There are at least 3-4 patterns that I'd like to make here. And I love that you can substitute 3 of her yarns for each pattern to get a different result. It would be lovely if she'd show each pattern in more than one yarn but that would probably get expensive to test knit. Anyway, I think I may frog Cambridge and use my RYC alpaca for Audrey. The alpaca is too fuzzy for any stitch definition of the cables but Audrey has just the cables in the ribbing before all that stocking stitch.

Has anyone made anything from this book yet? (ps. paid $18 bloody dollars for that book in moment of must-have panic. Should have bought it from you Sheelagh and had Simon pick it up. He's back in the UK in late Jan/early Feb. Should I order some 'Grace' yarn now???)

Look aren't I clever!! I have finished the back of Hickory from Rowan 40 and sewn in all the ends and there were hundreds 2 ends for each row. I have now started one of the fronts. It will probably be finished for when the weather warms up.

I have also finished this little jacket from Rowan baby for my friend Lisa's 9 month old Sophie.

Sorry I haven't posted much recently. I have just been really busy with work and everything.

The other reason is it is really hard to plug the camera in to the PC to download the pictures. We have a tower PC and you have to lie on the floor and plug the connector in upwards and you can't see it properly. There are only 2 slots, it has to be the right one and the right way round.

Scarf pattern

I take it from the lack of posts that everyone is up to their ears in shopping and holiday knitting? Well, if anyone's still reading, I thought I'd mention this scarf pattern. I bought it but haven't made it yet. It's nice that most of the proceeds goes to Dulaan though.
