Cambridge

I've finished the back of Cambridge! I'm getting very nervous about it fitting, especially after reading AlltangledUp Polly's frogging of hers. If it doesn't fit, I'll save it for Grace. Now I need the courage to cast on the front and face all that 1x1 ribbing for 4 inches! The yarn is so soft though. I'm getting ready to finish the first panel of the Plaid throw too. Will post photos soon!

Hope this works

After recent technical problems I'm going to try and post these photos for Katherine.

So there should be Katherine's Noro finished object. (sorry cannot seem to recall the name)

Also her almost finished Log Cabin Blanket.

And last but not least the progress made on Sorrel.

Doom, gloom amd despondencey

I have ripped my ribwarmer from Vogue Knitting, finished tried on , far too small and ripped. It fitted Phoebe but she didn't like the colour and so she wants me to knit her one in a different colour. We shall see.

My tension was off. Stictch tension fine but too many rows, therefore the bit that wrapped around the bottom of the back was too short and the armholes too tight. I could probably work it out if I could be bothered and reknit it so it fits, but I can't at the moment maybe one day.

I have signed up for Sock Wars. It was sold as a stash busting excercise and I thought great I've got loads of sock yarn. They have now posted the materials and you need DK. The only thing I have got as a complete ball is Wool cotton in green and I don't want to knit socks in Wool cotton.

I have got lots of other balls of DK you understand but all are earmarked for specific projects and if I use one of those I then might not have enough for whatever project it is. So its off to The Yarn House once I have dropped Phoebe at school at lunchtime.

I won't be at Knit & Relax on Sunday as we are going up to the boat to touch up paintwork weather permitting!

Christmas Knitting

In this case it should be said that some peopl may actually get something knitted for Christmas this year but I have my doubts that my epic idea of only knitted presents will be fulfilled. On the go at the moment 2 pairs of mittens from the book Folk Mittens. I love this book it's amazing. Also on the go is a pair of socks for my dad seeing as though he does indeed seem to appreciate the last pair I made him. These are from Estonian Knitting. The only gripe I have about this book is that it does not tell you what weight yarn is used and so it's the hard route of substitution. Dave's jumper is moving along, that definately should be done in time. It is the one from the new Rowan mag with the snowflake on the front. The last project is a pair of felted crochet slippers. I'm enjoying this even though I am not that enamoured with crochet.

Alas not much knitting for myself lately, well actually not much knitting getting done really as I have been reading a lot lately and though I have proved both reading and knitting can be done together it is not the most enjoyable experiance.

Anway that's it for now. Hopefully I will be able to bring a digital camera to this weeks knit and relax.

If this appears, then thank you Carol!

Congratulations Sheelagh

Hope your anniversary party on Saturday went well. Congratulations on another year. I miss you all.

Yarn House Birthday

All photos taken yesterday at the Yarn House Birthday.

I am wearing a cardigan in Louisa Harding Kimono Angora that I finished ages ago and shoved in a drawer because I didn't like it. I got it out the other day and it is much better. Pattern from Knitting magmzine.

Then there is a felted bag knitted by Sheelagh in Harris Tweed ?DK from the new Rowan felted knits book. I like it and may do one for me.

Then there is Sheelagh modelling her Colinette giotto. If you feel like knitting this in the same colourway she has a spare sleeve as she knitted 3 by mistake!

And finally is Sheelagh in a short sleeve Louisa Harding colurway but I don't know which yarn.
