Casting on!

I have finished Petes socks while we were on holiday on the canals, or nearly. I ran out of yarn just before the toe decrease on the second sock. I had another ball at home but not with me. He kept going on about why they weren't finished, but they are big.

I have shown them with one of Phoebe's socks for comparison.

I also started another pair of socks for me from Lornas Laces. So far they have been ripped twice. The pattern is slipped stitch rib from Sensational Knitted Socks. I started off with 1x1 rib as stated and then didn't like the effect when the main pattern started. So I ripped and started with the scalloped edging from Lucy Neatby's Cool Socks Warm Feet which looked great on the needles but I tried it on last night and I honestly don't think I would ever wear a sock with a frilly top. Picture at the top, I can't quite figure out the pictures.

Also started Kiri shawl in KSH from alltangledup.com. Am getting on much better than with Birch as you start small and increase and I am figuring out the pattern better. The photos not very good but I am getting on.

I love the new Rowan 40, after scarcely wanting to knit anything in the previous 2 Rowan mags there are at least 10 things I want to try. I have ordered the yarn from Sheelagh for Hickory and Glade. I had better get on and finish some more things before I go and collect it.

Good to hear you like Rowan 40 too. Tapestry is lovely to knit with, I'm doing Sorrel and really enjoying it. Speak soon.

Is the top of the sock just scalloped or really frilly? Might be nice to have something a bit different. You've probably already finished them by the time you read this though! I'm just starting a pair of Jaywalkers. Ripped out the bigger size and am now doing the smaller.
